Ernie attended schools in Duluth, Minnesota.
He married Gladys Bernard on August 17, 1937 at Duluth, Minnesota.
The family moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1955.
Ernie worked for many years for the Pickands Mather Company and fifteen years for Blandin Paper Company. He retired in 1979.
He was a member of Ponti-Peterson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Grand Rapids, Minnesota, a life member of Knights of Columbus, National Catholic Society of Foresters and a former justice of the peace in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Survivors are his wife, Gladys; two daughters, Laurie (Milton) Vail and Ann (Ron) Braiedy; two sons, Ray and Tom; a sister, Dorothy Drieman; a brother, Charles; ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Ernie died at Homestead Nursing Home in Deer River, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot C-C-32-2-0)
