George was raised in Pennsylvania where he attended schools. He came to Grand Rapids, Minnesota 21 years ago from California where he lived for a short time.
George and his wife, Mona, owned and operated the Fire Side Inn in Grand Rapids, Minnesota for 17 years.
He was a member of the VFW Ponti-Peterson Post, the McVeigh-Dunn American Legion Post, the Cooties, Disabled American Veterans and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2469.
He is survived by his wife, Aldona "Mona"; a daughter, Mrs. Ernie (Georgeana) Virsinger; a son, John; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert (Janet) Antler; a sister, Mrs. John (Anna) Taraskas; a brother, Joseph; ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
