George Harding came to Deer River, Minnesota over twenty years ago from Superior, Wisconsin and engaged in the lumbering business, which he had followed till death. He was an upright, square dealing character, and had many friends.

Shortly after coming here, his wife died. They had no children. The only known relatives are two brothers, one at Luther, Michigan and the other at Tacoma, Washington. Both were notified.

Funeral services under the auspices of the American Legion were held at the Methodist Church Thursday afternoon. Reverend Will Emory presided. A large number of friends attended. All places of business were closed for the hour. Interment was made a Pine Ridge Cemetery in Deer River, Minnesota. There is no grave marker.
