    George moved into this area in 1930.

    He owned and operated Demars' Saw Mill in Balsam. George was a member of the Ponti-Peterson VFW Post.

    Survivors include his wife, Ella; four daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Hellen) Reed, Mrs. Casper (Alice) Laini, Mrs. Arden (Mary) Crisman, and Mrs. Frank (Caroline) Niemi; three sons, George, Jr., Donald, and Richard; twenty-two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

    George died at Northern Itasca Hospital in Bigfork, Minnesota and is buried at the Balsam Cemetery in Itasca County, Minnesota.
