    George Boyd was an Itasca County resident since 1906. He was a foreman in area lumber camps in earlier years, then worked at the Greenway mine until retiring in 1946.

    He was a member of the Veterans of World War I, Itasca Barracks and held lifetime membership in the Itasca County Old Settler Association.

    His wife, Belinda, preceded him in death in October, 1964. Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Clarence Billock and Mrs. Lawrence Akre; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Kennedy and Mrs. James Nairn; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
