Harold moved to Spring Lake, Minnesota at the age of two where he was raised and attended schools.
He came to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1941 and married Evelyn Staley on June 28, 1941.
Following discharge in 1945 he began working for Blandin Paper Company. He retired in 1972 after working there for 25 years.
Harold was a member of the VFW.
Harold is survived by his wife, Evelyn; three daughters, LaVahn Lillo, Wyona Mertes, and Barbara Charnley; three sisters, Reathie and Alma McLean and Lillian Mohler; three brothers, Gerald, Vernon, and Lawrence; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Harold died at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota and is buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot 1.7.1.3)
