Harold Monson lived in Grand Rapids, Minnesota all his life and was planning to retire to Victor, Montana, where he and his wife had spent the last two winters. He married Mabel (Simonson) Monson in 1950 in Grand Rapids. After his discharge from service, he worked as a carpenter. He was a past president of Local United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Jointers Local 1864. He was a member of the Grand Rapids Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1720, the Grand Rapids American Legion McVeigh-Dunn Post 60, and the Grand Rapids Moose Lodge.
Harold died in Victor, Montana and is buried in Victor Cemetery, Victor, Montana (Lot Q5, Grave 5, No. 1423). He is survived by his wife, Mabel; two sons, Monell and Melvin; two sisters, Myrtle (Clarence) Lawson and Paulma Ruuhela; and five grandchildren.
