Harold was a former Nashwauk, Minnesota resident.

Harold is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Alice; three children, Darrell (Sally), Susan (Jim) McCasey, and Duane Elj; a sister, Joyce Owens, a total of thirty-three grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by two children, Gary Elj and Barbara Elj; his parents; and six siblings, Charles, Sonny, Arthur, Dolly, Hazel and Violet.
Harold died in Duluth, Minnesota and is buried in Nashwauk Cemetery in Nashwauk, Minnesota.
