    "Elwood" grew up in the Cloverdale area and attended the Greenway school system.

    He married Ruth McGuire in 1962. He was a truck driver and conveyor operator for Butler Brothers Mining Company for 30 years. He was also a custodian for Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota retiring in 1981.

    Elwood was a member of Ponti-Peterson VFW Post in Grand Rapids. Minnesota.

    He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a son, Nick; a daughter, Patricia Benton; a sister, Pauline Nick; three brothers, Robert, Nick, and Thomas; and three grandchildren.
