Herb Lepisto had been a Bovey resident since 1921. He attended schools at Marble and Coleraine and was a graduate of Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. He married Loretta Mickelson in Minnesota in 1940. He was employed by the J & L Mining Co. as a welder at the Hill Annex mine in Calumet for 35 years and was a member of the Steel Workers Local No. 1437. He was a member of the Grand Rapids Disabled Veterans, Itasca Chapter 13.
Herb died in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine, Minnesota (Block 62). He is survived by his wife, Loretta; a daughter, Judy (Thomas) Miller; a son, Tim; three sisters, Martha Korpi, Marie (William) Ranger, and Linda (Hubert) Kuluvar; and three grandchildren.
