Hurschel was employed by United States Steel until his retirement in 1966.

He married Margel Woodbury at Hastings, Minnesota on March 26, 1934.

Hurschel was preceded in death by a brother.

He is survived by his wife, Margel; three sons, Donald, Dennis, and Darryl; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Donna) Harthan and Mrs. Jerry (Doreen) Roquet; two brothers, Harry and Charlie; three sisters, Harriet Moos, Rose Matthews and Mrs. Milton (Margaret) Thompson; seventeen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Hurschel died at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is buried in Wildwood Cemetery at Cohasset, Minnesota. (p20e32)
