Ingvar was born in Mercer, North Dakota and came to Deer River, Minnesota as a child. He worked in the Grand Rapids, Minnesota area and was a retired Post Office employee. He moved to Elk River, Minnesota in 1981 and made his home with a niece and her husband, Jim and Sue Armstrong.
He is survived by four sisters, Ethel Jordheim, Marion O'Brien, Muriel White, and Alice Elliott and several nieces and nephews.
