    Iver grew up and attended school in Bemidji, Minnesota.

    On December 27, 1945, he married Dorothy Bahr in Bemidji, Minnesota. In 1950 he began working for Lakehead Pipeline and retired in 1981.

    He lived in Bemidji, Viking, Deer River, Minnesota and Saxon, Wisconsin, and settled in Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1986.

    He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Military Order of Cooties. He served as post commander for the VFW in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.

    Iver is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Randy (Ann) and Gregory (Alice); one sister, Ellen Blade; a brother, Alvin; and five grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Cheryll; and a brother, Hilding.
