James came to Grand Rapids, Minnesota about twenty-seven years ago and started the "Daily Reminder," an advertising paper. He joined the Herald-Review staff a few years later and was advertising manager of the newspaper and the Itasca Shopper. He worked the Grand Rapids Herald Review for more than twenty years.
Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Paul Eastwood and Mrs. Marie Martin; and a brother, Patrick.
