    Jim married Harriet (VanCampen) Gielen on September 23, 1961.

    In 1964, they moved to their farm north of Deer River, Minnesota.

    Jim worked for J&L Steel prior to going to work for Blandin Paper Company in 1963. He retired in 1995.

    Jim was an excellent carpenter, he enjoyed logging and was an avid hunter. He was able to go on many hunting and fishing trips out west, with his family and friends. He also enjoyed following his grandchildren in their sporting events.

    James was preceded in death by his father, Frank; brother, Patrick; and a son, Douglas.

    He is survived by his wife, Harriet, his mother, Florence; sons, Duane (Susan) Gielen, David (Tammy) Evans, and Darryl (Sally) Evans; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons, brothers, John (Sheila), Gerald (Nancy), Michael (Lorraine), sisters, Carol Gielen, Kathryn Tatro, Marcia (Robert) Dorry, Roberta (Wally) Huotari, Margaret Vaneps, Ella (Jerry) Parker, Nadine (Greg) Hopkins; sister-in-law Linda Hagebak; and many nieces and nephews.

    James passed away at Bigfork Communities in Bigfork, Minnesota and is buried in Wildwood Cemetery at Cohasset, Minnesota. (Plot c14w22)
