After graduation from the University of Minnesota, he began a 40 year career as a metallurgical engineer with United States Steel in Duluth, Virginia, and Coleraine, Minnesota and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Jim was an active member in the Knights of Columbus for over 40 years.
Jim is survived by Genevieve, his wife of 67 years; daughter, Dr. Mary Ann Forciea Douglas; son, Patrick; and four grandchildren.
Jim died in Sun City Center, Florida and is buried in Saint Michaels Catholic Cemetery in Farmington, Minnesota.
