Jim married Linda S. Nichols on October 12, 1971, at Urbana, Ohio.

They came to Itasca County in 1979. He had been employed by Swan River Fuels in Swan River, Minnesota for the past eight years.

Jim was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1720 of Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

Preceded in death by a son, Arlie, in 1979, Jim is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Lisa Harmon and Michele Fox; sons, Tim, Toby and Rob; his parents, Earl and Bessie Fox; his natural mother, Edith Shelpman; sisters, Sandy Collins, Edith "Squirt" Roland, and Sharon Bostick; and one brother, Bob.

Jim died at Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Wildwood Cemetery at Cohasset, Minnesota (p52)
