Newspaper article - Nov 1945 – Miss Jean Berg of Marble, who is taking the nursing course at the University of Minnesota, began her six weeks public health training as part of her course. She will graduate from the University at the end of the fall quarter, and will be employed as the county nurse for Itasca county.

After graduating from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing, Jean Berg worked as the Itasca County Public Health Nurse and also in Deer River, Minnesota as the School Nurse. She was married to Wallace "Mickey" Anderson who died in 1976 and then was married to George N. Roope. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, becoming Worthy Grand Matron for Minnesota. She also was an active volunteer for the Itasca Community College Alumni Association & the Itasca Community College Foundation.
Jean Roope died in Bloomington, Minnesota and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine, Minnesota (Block 1). She is survived by daughter Bonnie (Joe) Rosenfield; grandchildren Charles (Marcie) Rosenfield, and Kara (Ryan) Rosenfield-Cerepak; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond & Hildur (Carlson) Berg; first husband Wallace (Mickey) Anderson and second husband George N. Roope.
