    Johannes came to the United States in 1917 at age 14 to visit relatives. Returning to Norway for three years, he came back to stay in 1924 and settled in Iowa. He came to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1935 and worked many years as a self-employed carpenter, retiring in 1965.

    A member of the Grand Rapids VFW, he served in the United States Army during World War II.

    Survivors are a sister, Frances Stevens; one brother, Carl Dedriksen; an uncle, Martin Hammar; an aunt, Rosemina Lee; a niece and two nephews.

    Buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot 2.29.1.7)
