    John worked for Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway in Chicago, Illinois. John moved to Minnesota on Bello Lake in 1957 and started "Double "S" Ranch with his partner Herb Storcz. John worked numerous jobs, retiring from the Deer River Health Care Center in 1992 as an E.M.T. and Boiler Engineer. He was a life member in the VFW and American Legion. He was a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus and a life member in the NRA.

    John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anne Slowik, five sisters, and three brothers.

    He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

    Buried in Stokes Township Cemetery at Marcell, Minnesota.
