John was a longtime resident of the Grand Rapids, Minnesota area. He worked for the Blandin Paper Company for 35 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of the Ponti-Peterson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, the McVeigh-Dunn American Legion Post and the Eagles Club, all of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the Bovey Moose Club of Bovey, Minnesota and the Itasca County DAV.
John is survived by his wife, Marline; five sisters, Tina Bratsch, Elma Anderson, Ella Manley, Louise Aasan and Doris Lyman; and three brothers, Claus, Jr., Clarence, and Henry.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot 2.39.3.2)
