John Appelget was a life-long resident of Itasca County. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. and an M.A. degree. He was employed by the Department of Natural Resources and for many years worked as fisheries biologist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services.
John Appelget died in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He is survived by his wife, Alice K.; one son, Tony (Sharon) Appelget; one sister, Mary Sarff; and four grandchildren.
