He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Grand Marais, Minnesota, American Legion Post 413, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6024 and the Cook County Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club. He loved living on Track Lake, enjoyed partridge hunting, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, boating, the outdoors and his pet dogs.
John was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; and his godparents, Helena and Frances Henneberry.
John is survived by his wife, Barbara; his mother, Marion Wright; cousins Marcy Bedard and John Henneberry; and he became an uncle and great-uncle by his marriage into a large family.
John is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery at Grand Marais, Minnesota. (No picture of grave marker is available at this time.)
