Jack grew up and attended schools in Choteau, Montana, where his family homesteaded. He lived and ranched in Montana until moving to Marble, Minnesota in 1983.
On December 26, 1945, Jack married Grace Marilla.
In 1992, Jack moved to Pleasant Seasons in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marble, Minnesota.
Preceded in death by his wife, Grace in 1993; his parents William and Bertha; and three brothers. A cousin, Madeline Kavanagh, died in 1992.
He is survived by five cousins, Lillian Schaeffer, Luella Palmer, Katherine Heath, Esther Hall, and Joseph Kavanagh. He is also survived by a niece, nephew, six grandnieces and grandnephews.
Jack died at Leisure Hills Care Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery at Coleraine, Minnesota.
