    John was the first white child born in Cohasset, Minnesota.

    John completed schools in Cohasset and Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He was postmaster at Cohasset from 1922 to 1954 when he retired.

    John had been a member of Christ Episcopal Church for 52 years and he was a charter member of Odd Fellows Lodge 184, which started in 1916, and of the McVeigh-Dunn American Legion Post for 61 years. A charter member of the WWI Barracks, he was a member of the VFW and the Disabled American Veterans.

    Surviving is his wife, Grace, whom he married in 1927 in Union, Indiana.

    John died in Chicago, Illinois and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-A-45-1-5)
