    He also managed the VFW Club in Deer River, Minnesota before retiring.

    He most recently was a resident of Ah-Gwah Ching Nursing Home near Walker, Minnesota.

    Surviving relatives are his wife, Marion; sons, John and James; a stepson, Robert Stenech; and sisters, Lillian Bakken and Marcella Hansen.

    John died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Saint Frances Xavier Cemetery at Cuba Township in Becker County, Minnesota.
