    John married Joyce Murray on November 22, 1958 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

    He worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as a supervisor until his retirement in 1979. He then worked for Gulbranson Excavating and then retired with Arrowhead Communications after twelve years.

    John was a life member of the VFW and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; parents; brothers, Elmer, Wally and Donald; sisters, Evelyn Mackie, Shirley Albertson and Agnes Bouvette.

    John is survived by his children, Michael (Nancy), William, and Nancy Dahlgren; brother, Ralph "Pat" (Toi); sister-in-laws, Edith Dahlgren and Joan McLaughlin; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one on the way, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

    John died at his home in Deer River, Minnesota and is buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot 3.12.3.7)
