Joe came to Grand Rapids, Minnesota at the age of five.
He married Jean Taylor in 1952 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Joe worked as a sheet metal worker for twenty years at Blandin Paper Company. Retiring in 1980, he remained an active league bowler.
Joe was a member of Ponti-Peterson VFW Post and McVeigh-Dunn American Legion, both of Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Surviving are his wife, Jean; a son, Michael; a daughter, Betty Jo Hockinson; sisters, Rose Scepurek, Margaret Virnig, Kate Virnig, and Ruth Bobich; and five grandchildren.
Joe died at his home and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-G-09-2-2)
