    Joseph attended St. Vincent School in St. Vincent, Minnesota.

    He married Alice on September 30, 1944. Together they farmed in St. Vincent from 1955 to 1973. In 1973, they moved to Cohasset, Minnesota.

    Joe was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Andy, Don, Lee, Glen, and Duane; and his sister, Ruth.

    Joe is survived by his wife, Alice; seven children, Robert (Maureen), Doreen (Jim) Benson, Ralph (Nancy), Diane (Robert) Murphy, Doris (David) Miller, Renee (Paul) Myrick, and Ronald (Kristi); twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gladys Clow.

    Joe died at Homestead Nursing Home in Deer River, Minnesota. He is buried in Wildwood Cemetery at Cohasset, Minnesota. (First Addition)
