Joe grew up and attended schools in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
He was united in marriage to Ruth Hanson on May 31, 1943.
Joe managed the Joyce Estate for many years and with his wife, owned and operated the Waleski Apartment Building.
Music was an important part of his life. A self-taught organist, he enjoyed entertaining with "Joe and Friends" at nursing homes throughout the area. He was active in DAV and enjoyed playing pool and cards at the township hall.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and two brothers, Roger and Everett.
Joe is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Ruth; daughters, JoAnn (Michael) Olson and Ruth Ann (Robert) Connolly; one sister, Beverly Baker; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Joe died at his home and is buried in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-G-07-07)
