    Onie grew up and attended school in Fargo, North Dakota. He later moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota where he married Beulah Kent in 1938.

    Following his discharge, the couple returned to Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He worked for Northland Beverage Company for 15 years, later moving to Shakopee, Minnesota where he worked for Hichcock Industries in Bloomington, Minnesota. In 1979, he retired and returned to Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

    Onie was a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 2469 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1720, all of Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

    He is survived by his wife, Beulah; three daughters, Judith Riley, Cindi (Mike) Theis, and Susan (Rod) Kekkonen; two sons, Jerry (Greta) and Duane (Sandy); a sister, Margaret Larsen; a brother, John; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.

    Preceding him in death were an infant son, Leo Collins Crowe, his parents, five sisters and two brothers.

    Onie died at Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-G-22-25)
