Kenneth served in the United States Navy and was on the USS Roosevelt Carrier during the Korean Conflict.

Kenneth moved to Jessie Lake, Minnesota in 1946 and attended school in Deer River, Minnesota.
He married Carol Terry of Jessie Lake in 1953.
Kenneth attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota for refrigeration. He was employed with Rapids Electric. He worked in car sales and later as an electrician apprentice until he received his journeyman's license with Local 292 Minneapolis, where he worked for various contractors for twenty-two years.
Ken and his wife, Carol, also owned and operated Jessie Lake Resort from 1971 to the present.
Ken's interests were fishing walleyes, spending time with family and friends, traveling, the Minnesota Vikings, reading, and playing cribbage.
Ken will be remembered for his quick wit and unique sense of humor, his love for nature and his generous and loving spirit.
He is preceded in death by parents Roscoe and Elizabeth Wood; his brother Robert; and a sister Dorothy Brubaker.
Ken is survived by his wife, Carol; children Doug (Kim), Lori (Mike) McInerney, Kenny, and Melissa; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Kenneth died at his home and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Itasca County.
