    Lawrence moved to Minnesota with his family in a covered wagon in 1903 to homestead near Jessie Lake in Itasca County.

    Subsequent to his service in the United States Navy during World War I, he returned to the area and married Hulda Oberg in 1920. They moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota, where he worked at the Blandin Paper Company until retiring in 1961. He moved to Deerwood in 1984. Lawrence was a member of the Grand Rapids Church of God in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

    Preceded in death by his wife, Hulda in 1969, he is survived by a son, Lawrence; daughters, Lillian Anderson and Enid Eide; sisters, Blanche Mittler, Marguerite Harrington, and Virginia Baugh; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

    Buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-C-14-3-2)
