Leonard Hamar was a lifelong resident of the Trout Lake area. He had attended Trout Lake and Grand Rapids schools. He married Janice Graeber in Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1963. He had been a foreman for Johnson Brothers Construction of Litchfield, Minnesota.
Lenny died at his home in Trout Lake and is buried in the Trout Lake Community Cemetery, Bovey, Minnesota (Block 4, Lot 13). He is survived by his wife, Janice; a son, Terry (Lisa) Hamar; three grandchildren; and sisters, Shirley Hecimovich, Evelyn (Larry) Anderson, and Carolyn (Sid) Petersen. He was preceded in death by his parents Eino and Ida Hamar.
