    Leroy married Margaret Hanson of Remer, Minnesota on April 29, 1954

    He worked for School District 318 in Grand Rapids for 17 years. Following his years with the school district, he owned and operated various businesses in Cohasset, Minnesota and Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

    In 1975 he moved with his family to Mesa, Arizona, where he continued to be self-employed until his retirement.

    He started the Blandin's Men's Fastpitch Softball Team in the 1950s and continued to manage the team through the 1960s. His other favorite hobby was raising and racing homing pigeons. He was actively involved with homing pigeon clubs in Cohasset, Minnesota and Mesa, Arizona.

    He was a lifelong fan of the Twins and the Vikings and passed his love of sports onto his children and grandchildren.

    Preceding him in death were his parents, sister Margel Dorholt and a brother, Charles Woodbury.

    He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret; six children, Kay, Lynn, Roy (Carol), Cheryl (John) Williams, Jack (Kay), Joan (Jim) Huegle; eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and his brother, Robert (Carol).

    Leroy died at his home in Mesa, Arizona and is buried in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona. (Section 62, Site 352)
