LeRoy grew up in rural Cohasset, Minnesota and attended and graduated from Deer River High School.
LeRoy was united in marriage to Kathleen Koch on April 12, 1958 in Wadena, Minnesota.
LeRoy was employed for 33 years at Blandin Paper Company but his real passion was farming his land, a life he truly loved.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Nicholas; and two brothers, Keith and Vernon.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathleen; five daughters, LeeAnne Gielen, Lynn (James) Bogowith, Kristina (Ray) Peter, Laura (James) Carkhuff, and Heidi (John) Herschbach; seven sons, Keith, Kenneth (Shanna), Anthony (Penny), LeRoy (Karen), Peter, Paul, and Patrick (Nicole); a sister, Virginia Black; thirty grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
LeRoy died at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Burial was in Pine Ridge Cemetery at Deer River Township, Deer River, Minnesota. No photo of grave marker is available at this time.
