Leroy was raised in Bovey, Minnesota and attended school in Coleraine, Minnesota.
He married Doris LaPlant on April 20, 1944 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
He worked for two years with Gildemeister Motors in Grand Rapids, Minnesota before going to work at the Blandin Paper Company as a machinist. He worked there for 33 years and retired in 1979.
He served for a short time as the Harris Township Clerk. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Flyway Over 50 Club and St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he served many years as an usher.
Survivors are his wife, Doris; daughters, Nancy Mahan and Janet Erickson; sons, William and John; a sister, Eleanor Bentz; brothers Donald, Arnold, and Stanley; and seven grandchildren.
Leroy died at Itasca Memorial Hospital in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot 1.4.3.2)
