Linter grew up and attended school in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Following his discharge, he returned to Grand Rapids, Minnesota and married LaVerne Thoennes.
Following marriage, the couple moved to the Twin Cities. He was a truck driver for over 30 years, and continued up until his illness.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 544 and a member of the VFW in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Alice Olson; and a brother, Donald Underwood.
He is survived by his wife, Laverne; daughters Kim (Dave) Cincoski and Kara (Ronald Gerth) Underwood; sons Jeffrey (Debbie) and Joseph (Cheryl); sisters Ethel Johnson, Hazel Olson, Betty Reid, and Wava Olson; brothers Cliff and Robert; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Linter died at Our Lady of Good Counsel Home in St. Paul, Minnesota and is buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot 1.17.1.x)
