Following his discharge, he returned to Grand Rapids, Minnesota and attended Itasca Community College.
He worked various jobs in the area. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and playing pool. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, both of Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
He is survived by his son, Brandon, sister Judy (Paul) Dick; two brothers, Rockney "Rocky" (Diane) and Steven (Janet); and two grandchildren.
