    Loren moved to the Nashwauk, Minnesota area in 1936 and retired from employment with the Burlington Northern Railroad in May, 1980 after 43 years of service.

    He moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1975.

    Loren was a member of the American Legion Walter-Riley Post of Nashwauk, Minnesota, the American League Professional Umpire Regional Commission for State Amateur Baseball Program and was named to the Minnesota Amateur Baseball all of Fame in 1968.

    Loren is survived by his wife, Jane; son, Father John Maryland; three daughters, Mrs. Peter (Margo) App, Mrs. Randy (Sherry) Burca, and Mrs. Richard (Patty) Johnson; and ten grandchildren.

    Loren died in Hawaii and is buried in Fort Snelling National Cemetery at Minneapolis, Minnesota. (Plot W, O, 5644)
