    Slugger Legueri worked for Cleveland Cliffs Mining Co. for several years after his discharge from service. He then worked for the city of Nashwauk, Minnesota until his retirement. He also worked for many years as a bartender at the GI Club in Nashwauk. He married Elaine Sigfrinius in 1954 in Marble, Minnesota, and they made their home in Nashwauk. He was a member of the VFW Post 8831 of Pengilly, the American Legion Post 307 of Nashwauk, Knights of Columbus, and was an active member and usher at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. He was a former member of the Swan Lake Country Club, the Nashwauk City Council and had retired from the Nashwauk Fire Department.

    Slugger died in Hibbing, Minnesota and is buried in Nashwauk Cemetery, Nashwauk, Minnesota. He is survived by a brother, George (Alice) Legueri; two sisters, Carmen (Rey) Lakso and Elizabeth Sweeney; brother-in-law, David (Beverly) Sigfrinius; sister-in-law, Elsie (Barney) Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews, and dear family friends Milt & Bonnie Latvala and Pete Stupar. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, in 2007; his parents; brothers, Benny and Angelo Legueri; sister, Josephine Paakkonen; and an infant sister.
