Following school, Lyle worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps in northern Minnesota.
Following his discharge, Lyle married Charlotte Lanigan on May 16, 1946, and lived in Blaine where he worked 37 years for Minnegasco. He retired to Bigfork, Minnesota in 1983.
Lyle was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6587 of Spring Lake Park, Minnesota.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert. Lyle is survived by his wife, Charlotte; one son, Terry; two daughters, Penny Nelson and Candi Axelson; one brother, Donald; and six grandchildren.
Lyle died at his home in Bigfork, Minnesota. He is buried in Morningside Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Coon Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot Ser Col I E)
