    Martin worked with his father at Garmaker Auto Repair from 1950 to 1963. He was a mechanic for St. Louis County and retired as shop foreman in 1991.

    Martin's wife, Phyllis, died in October, 1994 and his mother, Sophie, died in November, 1994. His father, Martin, died in 1986.

    He is survived by seven daughters, Karen Olson, Kimberly Pertzborn, Kathleen Garmaker, Kristine Garmaker, Kandace Ross, Kasey Garmaker, and Kelly Garmaker; five sons, Richard, Randy, Ryan, Rory, and Ronnie; three sisters, Jean Barto, Margaret Sutherland, and Joan O'Neil; three brothers, Clarence, Richard, and Thomas; 39 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

    Martin died at his home in Keewatin, Minnesota and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery at Hibbing, Minnesota. No photo of grave marker is available at this time. (Block 5, Lot 282, Grave 1, W 1/2)
