Matt was married to Johnnie Williamson on February 10, 1944.
He moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota after retirement from the service in 1972.
Matt was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Johnnie; three daughters, Mrs. Al (Jean) Frank, Mrs. Larry (Shirley) Greiner and Pat Steinert; one sister, Muriel Amidon; six brothers, Warner, Kenneth, George, Mervin, Russell, and Bill; and six grandchildren.
Matt died at Itasca Memorial Hospital in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
