    Maurice Mallum married Hazel Mohler in Cohasset, Minnesota in 1951, where they lived for a short time before moving to Grand Rapids in 1953. In 1958, they moved to the Trout Lake area of Bovey. He was employed with U.S. Steel for 33 years, John Deere in Grand Rapids, and as a farmer. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Grand Rapids, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Grand Rapids. He was also a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Cohasset. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards and making crafts.

    Maurice died in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Minnesota ((I-G-10-18). He is survived by two daughters, Lynn (Jeff) Liesmaki and Tammy (Mike) Hewett; two sons, Michael (Pam) Mallum and Bruce (Cheryl) Mallum; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; special friend, Jan Hawkinson and family; brother, Melvin (Donna) Mallum; five sisters, Marjorie Cox, Mildred (Harry) Burwell, Marlene (Dennis) Newman, Marilyn (Richard) Stone, Mavis (Norman) Dahlberg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
