Melvon worked most of his life for Zinzsmaster Bread Company of St. Paul, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Salome "Babe", who died in December, 1983.
Survivors are a son, Roger; a daughter, Virginia Hadd; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Bruce.
Melvon died at Arlington, Virginia and is buried in Quantico National Cemetery at Quantico, Virginia. (Section 1, Site 8429)
