  • Military Highlights:
September 9, 1968 - My first impression upon landing in Vietnam was, as they opened the doors on the plane, a wave of unbelievable heat and humidity hit me. I thought I'll never survive. I would have this thought many times in my year there.

I carried about 80 to 90 pounds on my back--radio, spare battery, 20 magazines M-16 ammunition, 300 rounds of M-60 ammunition, 6-8 quarts of water, food, and personal stuff. Again, many times I thought I wouldn't survive. We were in combat 200 days out of 365. Losing comrades and friends took it's toll on me as I relive these things nightly. God has blessed me with a wonderful family and friends to make my journey easier.

I am willing to share my story and answer questions to groups, etc.
