Newspaper article: February 1946 – “Fifth Air Force, Japan – Mike P. Dimich, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dimich of Bovey, was recently promoted to Sergeant. Sgt. Dimich entered the service in July of 1944, and attended B-17 and B-29 gunnery school at Las Vegas, Nevada and B-17 Armament School at Lowry Field, Colorado. An active athlete at Greenway high school in Coleraine, Sergeant Dimich also held the job of physical training instructor at Lowry Field. Overseas since December 1945, the Sergeant is a clerk typist in the Intelligence Office, Headquarters Irumagawa Army Air Base, Japan, assigned to the 5th Air Force.”

Mike Dimich married Betty Saidoo in 1947.
Mike died in Flint, Michigan and is buried in Assyrian Cemetery, Flint, Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Stan (Susan) Dimich, Dan (Rosemary) Dimich, and Paula (Kevin) Koplen; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy, Anne, and Helen (Norman); and brother-in-law, Peter Saidoo. He was preceded in death by his son, Milan; brother, George; brother-in-law, Nick; and sister-in-law, Josephine.
