Milton served with the United States Army in the South Pacific during World War II.

Milton moved to Moose Lake near Deer River, Minnesota as an infant.
He attended North Country School for elementary education and graduated from Deer River High School in 1939.
Following school, he worked at the creamery and drove the milk truck for the Deer River Co-Op.
He married Delores Breuer on September 12, 1942.
Following discharge from the service, Milton returned to Deer River and operated a dairy farm and in 1952 established a carpentry contracting business which he continued to operate until retirement in 1981. He had owned and operated the Foreman Lumber Company in Deer River, Minnesota in the 1960's.
Milton was preceded in death by his wife, Delores on April 27, 1990, and his brother Norman.
He is survived by two sons, Michael and Bruce; one brother, Donald; five grandsons; and one great-grandson.
Milton died at Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery at Deer River, Minnesota. No photo of grave marker is available at this time.
