Nicifor married Maria Teckentrup on December 4, 1951. Eight children came to the marriage. He came to America in 1956, to Chicago, Illinois, then moved to Alexandria, Minnesota in 1973, then to Bigfork, Minnesota in 1978.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sons, Ivan and Lazar; and a daughter, Kristina.
Nicifor is survived by his wife of 60 years, Maria; sons Milija, Alexander (Doreen), Dragi (Melanie); daughters, Milanka (Mathew) Neisen, Nadiza (Joeseph) Bulkowski, Miriana Ivanovic-Hoff (John Hogg), and Radosava (David) Carraher, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Burial in Stokes Township Cemetery at Marcell, Minnesota.
